Rita Slagowski

Rita Slagowski serves as the Director of Finance for Passionate Wings, where she brings decades of professional experience, attention to detail, and a heart for service to support the organization’s mission. Born in Phoenix and later relocating to Utah, Rita has built a career grounded in reliability, organization, and dedication to helping others.

Rita’s professional background spans over 25 years in administrative and financial roles. She spent more than two decades with Cookietree Bakeries, where she managed data entry and coordinated logistics with trucking companies to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. She later expanded her expertise while working in Accounts Payable for Harmons Grocery, where she supported multiple store locations, maintained financial accuracy, met critical deadlines, and resolved accounting discrepancies.

Currently, Rita works with Intermountain Health as a Patient Service Representative, where she focuses on building meaningful relationships with patients and caregivers while ensuring a high level of service and care. Her ability to combine technical skill with compassion makes her a valuable asset in both her professional and nonprofit roles.

Rita’s connection to Passionate Wings is both personal and profound. As the sister of Founder and CEO Martha Valentini, and the daughter of Julie Ann—the inspiration behind the organization—Rita carries a deep commitment to honoring her mother’s legacy. She is passionate about ensuring that Passionate Wings continues to be a place of hope, safety, and empowerment for women seeking a new beginning.

In her role as Director of Finance, Rita is dedicated to supporting the organization’s growth with integrity, accuracy, and accountability. She is honored to be part of a mission that reflects her family’s story and is committed to helping Passionate Wings create lasting impact for generations to come.
